THERMOS® ROLLS OUT NEW VACUUMWARE PRODUCTS FOR 2008
Retro touches and teen sensations add style to the industry leader’s offerings
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. (March 16, 2008) – Continuing its tradition of innovation in the vacuumware category, Thermos® announces the introduction of two new product lines: the Stainless King™ and Thermos Heritage stainless steel vacuumware series. The company also announces design and licensing updates made to its FUNtainer™ line of stainless steel vacuum-insulated food jars and bottles.

The new Stainless King series blends the most up-to-date Thermos technology with hints of the past, resulting in a sleek, efficiently designed line of mugs, travel tumblers, bottles and food jars. The Stainless King series is the most lightweight and compact product line ever offered by Thermos, utilizing the patented TherMax® double wall vacuum insulation. This advanced technology allows for hot or cold temperature retention for up to 24 hours. The line features a unique hammered finish available in modern tones of Black Hammertone and Midnight Blue Translucent.

Also exemplifying the convergence of modern Thermos TherMax technology with the classic tradition of products past, the new Thermos Heritage line of stainless steel vacuumware delivers a unique combination of function and style. The line of travel tumblers, briefcase bottles and food jars features the distinctive red plaid pattern of Thermos products from the 1960s and 70s, a “throwback”-style stopper, a polished chrome top and the classic Thermos logo. Combined with sleek, modern lines, these features create a distinctly retro look on-trend with popular vintage styles.

“We’re constantly getting requests to bring back this well-known pattern,” said Rick Dias, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Thermos. “It’s exciting to provide consumers with a timeless style that’s been updated to reflect our advances in insulation technology.”

Thermos’ popular FUNtainer line also received a fresh design update and new character licenses to appeal to the back-to-school crowd. The line of vacuum-insulated hydration bottles and food jars have been streamlined with improved ergonomics and styling to allow for easier cleaning. The 2008 character license additions include the likeness of Miley Cyrus, aka “Hannah Montana,” the teen pop sensation from the hit TV series, and the cast of the Disney Channel Original Movie “High School Musical.” Both have emerged as runaway hits in the tween category, quickly moving beyond television to become mega brands within the demographic.

“We see these licensing opportunities as a chance to further appeal to the tween market and expand on an already popular line,” said Dias.

The Stainless King, Thermos Heritage and FUNtainer lines are available now at Target.

Sans BPA Pourquoi Ça Compte

Bisphenol A
